
The flood in Chanju River in Kamal Gaonpalika-5 of Jhapa has intensified the erosion around the area. Half a dozen houses are at high risk as the floods in the river along with the heavy rains since last night have intensified the erosion.
According to Ward Chairman Lal Bahadur Bista, half a dozen households have to be relocated to safer places around the river. Village Municipality Chairman Hukum Singh Rai said that settlements in wards 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 of Kamal are at risk of flooding and erosion.
