Pakistan got off to a good start with openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq sharing 85 runs for the first wicket in 16.4 overs. Puran took the first wicket in his third over, bowling Zaman for 35 in his third over. Zaman struck four fours in 48 balls. Puran took two important wickets in the 23rd over. In the third ball of Puran’s 23rd over, Imam ul Haq hit a top edge and was caught by wicketkeeper Shy Hope for 62 runs.

Playing 68 balls, Haq hit 7 fours and 1 six. This is Haq’s seventh consecutive half-century in ODIs. Puran also caught Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan for 11 off Shy Hope to give the West Indies a great comeback. Rizwan was out with an edge. Puran, who has made a name for himself as an explosive wicketkeeper-batsman in world cricket, has bowled brilliantly for the first time. West Indies have lost a three-match ODI series one game earlier.
