
Hosts Skibs advanced to the semifinals of the sixth Skibs Cup Inter-School Three-by-Three Basketball Tournament for junior boys on Friday. Skibs reached the semifinals by winning Group B. Skibs defeated Unique 5-4, The Skylark 6-5 and Eden Bridge Academy (EBA) 4-2. EBA also reached the semi-finals as runners-up. In the semi-finals, EBA will meet Angels Heart while Skibs will compete against Basundhara National Academy (BNA). Nims ‘A’, Himalaya, Woodmandap, Nimes ‘B’, Valley Public, Arya, Skibs and NCCS secured places in the quarterfinals of the competition which was being held at the court of Skibs, the organizer of Basundhara.
Senior Boys include Skibs ‘A’, Nimes ‘B’, Trijyoti, HHCA, BNA, St. Joseph’s, Valley Public, Apple, Odyssey International Academy, EBA, Skylark, Mahamanjushree, Nims ‘A’, Radiant, Greenland and Nepal Model. The competition was jointly inaugurated by Madan Gurung, Chairman of Tokha Municipality Ward 5 and Arun KC, Principal of Skibs. According to Sanjay Prajapati, basketball coach of Skibs, a total of 52 teams including 24 in senior boys, 8-8 in junior boys and staff and 12 in girls are participating in the competition. On the staff side, the winner will receive 10,000 and the runner-up 5,000 cash prizes. The rest have no cash prizes. The final will be held on Sunday.
